Silkworks "Angel" by Conit

The graphics for our Silkworks Tees are photos taken from hand painted silk scarves. These colorful works of art are painted by the Atis Fanm (Creole for women artists) of Matènwa, Haiti. For years, dedicated artist Ellen LeBow has gone to the mountain village of Matènwa on the island of Lagonav (located in the Bay of Port au Prince). She brings supplies, teaches and encourages the women, pays them well for their work, and then brings their artwork back to the States to sell.
